Create a Cosy Atmosphere with Wooden Beds

A favourite in the bed world for many years has been wooden beds. They come at very affordable prices a lot of the time, they look great in practically any home and they are easy to get hold of.

These days the wooden bed has come a long way from the ones that we used to know and love. Whilst you can still get classic looking wooden beds, there are also plenty of new, modern designs available to choose from now too.

The Classic Wooden Bed

The classic wooden bed has a built in headboard and it is put together with various slots of wood. You typically have to put most wooden beds together yourself; though some companies may offer to deliver them ready assembled, or you may request that if you are not confident doing it by yourself. Be aware that if you do have to make a request for the bed to come fully assembled, you may be charged an additional fee.

The most classic type of wooden bed is by far the pine bed. Pine beds tend to give off a cosy, intimate, country home style feel to the room. They are simple, light in colour and they also go with most other bedroom furniture that you can purchase these days.

Of course a main reason why many people choose classic style wooden beds is because of their price tag. You will find that classic wooden beds are actually quite cheap to purchase – especially if you look around! They are easy to create, they have a basic style and for that reason they have a basic price tag. You could pick up a great quality wooden bed for just under £100 (typically without the mattress) if you searched around properly.

The More Luxurious Wooden Beds

As with everything, there are also more luxurious types of wooden beds that you can opt for. These are built lower to the ground than the classic style beds and they are often referred to as contemporary wooden beds.

Some of the most unique wooden contemporary beds include ones with a built in, bent headboard. Starting out straight, the headboard begins to bend backwards as it reaches the top. This is a current favourite style among modern trend bed lovers!

You can get wooden beds in single, double and king sizes. They are certainly the easiest type of beds to search for due to the large selection available. However, this can also be overwhelming. So why not start your search online to see exactly what is on offer and to get a good idea of the different types of beds available to you? By taking the time to shop around you could find the perfect bed to suit your needs.

The only thing to really keep in mind with wooden beds is that you need to choose a good quality one. Do not just opt for the cheapest one you can find as it may not be the most cost effective bed in the long run. Cheap wood often wears out very quickly and it may need to be replaced within a year or two. Better quality beds will last you for up to 10 years sometimes so keep that in mind when searching for the best wooden beds to suit your needs.
