Are you one of those people who likes to watch TV in bed? Many of us do, but it can be difficult to do so. Most beds aren’t constructed so that watching TV

from them is easy, and most TVs aren’t made for watching in bed, either. The TV isn’t quite at eye level so that it’s hard to see, and that can mean that you

have to twist and turn just see the screen — which can leave you with an aching neck or back the next day. After all, propping yourself up with pillows may

help you see the TV, but doing so can also put you in a very uncomfortable and contorted positions.

Or perhaps you’re even stuck with no TV in the bedroom because you simply don’t have enough space. After all, you need some floor space to put a TV in

your bedroom, right?

Actually, no. Someone has come up with a brilliant idea that can take care of TV logistics in the bedroom, and it’s called a TV bed. With TV beds, “Pass

the control, darling” becomes something you can say that doesn’t sound odd. What are they, exactly?

First, some background. Recent TV technology has made the TV much lighter, thinner, and not top-heavy, such that you can place it just about anywhere

and it will stay as long as it’s fastened in properly. It also doesn’t take up a lot of room, which is another plus. It wasn’t previously possible to come up with

something called a “TV bed,” because previous TVs were simply too heavy, too cumbersome, and took up too

much room. However, because these new TVs are so much lighter, someone was able to come up with what is really a brilliant idea. This “brilliant idea” is

that a TV can be installed right at the end of your back, right in the foot board. What’s different about a TV bed versus regular bed is that the TV is mounted

right onto the foot board. Most of these beds also come with a place to put your DVD player in the alcove therein. The alcove is of good size, because of

course the electronics stored there have to have good airflow around them.

So if you’ve been having trouble seeing your TV screen in bed, and you don’t want to put up with all the neck and back pain and eye strain, a TV bed might

just be the thing to fix your problem. Think about that for a minute. You’ll be able to watch your favourite programmes with no aching back or neck the next

day, and no strained eyes because you couldn’t quite see properly. Now you can say, “TV beds? Pass the control, darling.”
